Personal Growth Carnival #42
AlarmClock.jpgWhat’s the title have to do with the 3 articles I’ve picked this week?  Everything.
Let’s start with Raymond David Salas talking about How to Strike Gold in Your Life.  What do you think he means by this?  Here’s a clue: The Gold Rush of the 1800’s had some lessons that apply today.  He has some insights that will strike home.

Gustav shows us how to Balance our Selection Criteria Habit. But what’s a selection criteria?  It’s a way to not get stressed out that things don’t always work out perfectly.  Nice concept Gustav.

Anco shouts: Wake Up On Time.  He has a good point.  What’s the first thing everyone does each day?  Why not get a good start.

So those were 3 articles that caught my eye.  The rest are listed below and I’m sure they’re good.  The above just jumped out at me.  If you read a good article, please feel free to leave a comment for everyone to read.

Go Pistons!

$1,056.34: Million-Dollar Savings Club Update

Filed under: Uncategorized, Million Dollar Savings Club — bryan_fleming @ 2:35 pm

wallstreet2.jpgWell I’m happy to say to I just checked my ING direct account. There’s $1,056.34 in it. I think that’s impressive because if you read from the beginning, we started with just one dollar.

So if you’ve been playing along you should have a thousand bucks too. Hopefully you’ve set up your ING direct account and you’ve decided to be a Gold, Silver, or Bronze saver. If you have then you’re seeing your bank account grow and grow. It’s fun isn’t it?

I haven’t written about the Million Dollar Savings club in a while because everything is so automatic. That’s what I like about ING Direct and other online savings accounts. Everything happens automatically without even thinking about it. (more…)

Personal Growth Carnival #41

Filed under: Personal Growth Carnival — bryan_fleming @ 10:09 am

leader.jpgEach week I pick three articles that catch my eye. In this 41st edition of the Personal Growth Carnival, here are the three I’ve picked:

Phil is a brave man.  He’s questioning the great Dale Carnegie by saying, Arguments can be Good .  If you’ve read “How to win friends and influence people” you’ll know Dale Carnegie says not to argue.  But, Phil brings up some good points.

Joy Soriano has great parable about an Eagle entitile:  How do you teach an eagle how to fly?.  It’s a fun little story to read and it’s one of those that seems to stick with you throughout the day.  I’d highly recommend reading it.

Steve Olson has an interesting take on Goal Setting: Why Reaching Your Goals Will Never Make You Happy .  He’s got some strong insights into “Enjoying the journey, not the destination”.  I’m going to start living by his advice.

Now, we had an especially big week this week with over 45 submissions.   The three I’ve listed above “caught my eye”, it doesn’t mean they are the best.  If you read a good article that I didn’t hightlight, drop in a comment so others will read what you’ve learned from it.

I’d like to thank all the authors for their hard work in writing these articles.  Enjoy the carnival…. (more…)
