zecco.gifNeil over at 100K Journey: My path to $100,000 writes about his experiences in the Million Dollar Savings Club:

I’ve been saving $50 a week and it automatically gets transferred every Friday. I use this account as my “mid-term” savings in case of any type of small emergency. This is the same account that I used to pay for my online appraisal class. As of this day, I have $536.21. It feels great to have extra money and the best part is that I don’t remember even saving it. All I know is that I must have at least $50 in my bank account every Friday and I let them do the rest. It really is a GREAT way to save.

You see Neil is doing exactly what he should.  Buy things you want with money you’ve already saved instead of putting it on a credit card.  What I like about Neil is he’s investing money in the best investment anyone can make: themselves.

Last time I told you I found a place that would let you trade stocks without paying any commission fees.  That means you and I can start investing some of our Million Dollar Savings Club money.  This is great news, but what if I told you it just got better.

How?

Because this company (Zecco) will now let you open an account with no money in it!  This means you can start trading stocks with as little as $25 or $50.  Instead of putting $1,000 into Zecco like I was planning, I’m going to do $500.  That way I still have $600 or so in my ING Direct savings account.  Remember that account keeps building weekly.

We’re going to start talking about stocks in the Million Dollar Savings Club soon so you’ll want to have a trading account ready.

I’ve just set up my Zecco account.  It’s a lot like setting up a paypal account.  You fill in some forms and give them a lot of information.  Then they deposit 2 small amounts money into your bank account.  You tell them the amounts they’ve deposited to prove the account is yours.

Then you’re all set to make your big Wall St. Debut.  I’m waiting for my 2 deposits to show up in my checking account.  Then look out Wall Street here I come!

Until next time… Keep on saving.
