Day Trading with Bryan

wallstreet2.jpgWell I’m happy to report I made my first stock trade 2 days ago with Zecco.  If you recall the market was down last Tuesday.  It’s what they call a “sell off”.  I use my google home page to track a few stocks and the S&P 500 index.  I like the S&P 500 because I must see it 20 times a day as I’m opening my web-browser.  It’s also not risky like an Ebay type stock because I don’t think the entire stock market will go bankrupt.  It doesn’t seem to move around so much. I feel I have a good instinct of what it’s doing.

As I wrote about last time, I moved $500 from my ING Direct account to Zecco.  I thought “Why not buy some stocks when they’re on sale?”

I wanted to stay with the S&P 500 so I found what’s called an “index fund”.  It simply matches the S&P 500 index.  The ticker symbol is IVV (If you want to play along). (more…)

Million Dollar Savings Club: Day Trading for the Little Guy?

Filed under: Uncategorized, Million Dollar Savings Club — bryan_fleming @ 2:05 pm

zecco.gifNeil over at 100K Journey: My path to $100,000 writes about his experiences in the Million Dollar Savings Club:

I’ve been saving $50 a week and it automatically gets transferred every Friday. I use this account as my “mid-term” savings in case of any type of small emergency. This is the same account that I used to pay for my online appraisal class. As of this day, I have $536.21. It feels great to have extra money and the best part is that I don’t remember even saving it. All I know is that I must have at least $50 in my bank account every Friday and I let them do the rest. It really is a GREAT way to save.

You see Neil is doing exactly what he should.  Buy things you want with money you’ve already saved instead of putting it on a credit card.  What I like about Neil is he’s investing money in the best investment anyone can make: themselves. (more…)

Personal Growth Carnival #43

Filed under: Uncategorized, Personal Growth Carnival — bryan_fleming @ 7:55 pm

speaking.jpgWell we’re back again with a new edition of the Personal Growth Carnival.  As I’ve been doing every week, I pick 3 articles that catch my eye and put them to the top for you to read.  Want to submit your article?  It’s free and you can do so here.

Now, before you read any further I want you to do something:  Write down how much money want to make this year.  Then read Wanda Grindstaff’s article Financial Mindset - How much money are You Really Worth? Maybe you’ll kick yourself like I did.  Sometimes I think we all cut ourselves short.  Great Article Wanda.

Have you ever been fired from a job?  Ever start a business and not see it work out?  Becky has. She shares her experiences in What I learned from failure.  Sometimes it’s reassuring to remember that we learn more from our failures than we do from our successes.

But is it good enough to just think positively? Kara-leah says no!  She talks about it by using her screen play as an example in Why The Secret doesn’t work.  Yes, positive thinking is not enough.  We need emotion people!
